Introducing artist Rosie Cunningham
Bio
Rosie is an established artist working out of her studio in Plymouth. Until recently, she was the co-director of Woohoo Art Events, where she curated exhibitions in Exeter and Powderham Castle. Following the retirement of the other co-director, she is now concentrating on her own work, focusing on her popular contemporary portraits. Since attending Plymouth College of Art and Design, she travelled extensively throughout Europe, America, and East Asia; she attributes her love of vibrant colour from her time spent there. Mainly painting with acrylics, she has an eclectic style ranging from textured abstracts to illustrative and quirky portraits and painted mannequins. Her work has a global following, and is in the homes of collectors in France, Eire, Italy, Switzerland, Australia, Lanzarote, the US and throughout the UK. She has shown in Plymouth, Exeter, Exmouth, Totnes, Torquay and London. Rosie was one of six artists whose work was shown in the inaugural exhibition in the new art gallery at Powderham Castle where the Earl bought one of her paintings for his collection. Her work is in several art galleries in Plymouth, including Canvas contemporary gallery in Ebrington Street, which highlights her quirky portraits.
